Keyboard Shortcuts for Posting with Blogger
How to Bulk Import Posts into your Blogger blog using this free XML template
Are you struggling to Bulk Import posts into your Blogger Blog? Use this approach (and template) that has been working without fail for years - Free!
Step 1: Create your Import File
Create a anyName.xml file with the following structure:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<ns0:feed xmlns:ns0='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom'>
<ns0:title type='html'>Title</ns0:title>
<ns0:generator>Blogger</ns0:generator>
<ns0:updated>2025-04-27T23:16:25Z</ns0:updated>
<ns0:entry>
<ns0:category scheme='http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#' term='Love,Life,Memories'/>
<ns0:category scheme='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#kind' term='http://schemas.google.com/blogger/2008/kind#post' />
<ns0:id>post-1</ns0:id>
<ns0:author><ns0:name>Author</ns0:name></ns0:author>
<ns0:content type='html'><a src="https://EverythingForBloggers.Blogspot.com">Blogging Is Happiness</a></ns0:content>
<ns0:published>2025-04-28T23:16:25Z</ns0:published>
<ns0:title type='html'>Everything For Bloggers</ns0:title>
</ns0:entry>
</ns0:feed>
Note:
- If you're new to all this, simply copy the above text and save it in a file with any name. The extension of this file should be xml and it should not have anything other than this code. The go to step 2 to do it yourself to understand how it works.
- <ns0:entry> tag includes your post. So there should be as many of these tags as the number of posts you intend to upload.
- The fields marked in blue need to be changed by you as per your data.
- The title and content tags should not contain special characters such as "&".
- Unfortunately Blogger doesn't seem to be supportive of this method so in case of any issue your file may be rejected without telling you the reason. In fact, it might show success, but when you go to the posts section you will find no uploaded posts!
- Also, Blogger has a daily upload limit of 100 posts. So prepare your uploads accordingly.
Step 2: Import your File
Here are the steps:
- Login to Blogger.com
- Select the blog if you have multiple blogs.
- Go to the Settings section from the left side menu.
- Scroll down to the Manage Blog section within Settings.
- Click on Import Content.
- In the pop-up unselect Automatically Publish... option. This is done for two reasons:
- Blogger doesn't allow you to upload the other fields such as Search Description, Permalink, Options, etc. If you want to edit these, you need to add them manually.
- Online forums are replete with suggestions about uploading your posts as draft to avoid some of the issues faced during the upload.
- Click on Import and select your file.
- Go to posts and check if your posts are there in the drafts (or published, if you didn't follow step 6 as advised.)
Hope this is helpful!
